Having a busy life makes it very difficult to follow strict diets so we make nutrition very simple, AND effective. We do not count calories, and with very few exceptions, we recommend most types of foods. The secret? Common-Sense-Nutrition! We will share it with you as part of the program.
This 4 week program is designed to kick start your wellness journey. The weekly program will be designed just for you based on your wellness and fitness goals, how active you are, and your current fitness level. For beginners, it will involve a gradual increase in intensity with basic, but calorie-torching bodyweight exercises while using simple, and proven nutrition guidelines. 1) What is different and unique about this World Record Fitness program?
Luis had been an athlete his whole life, but he created this specific program partly from a personal medical need. Fifteen years ago, at age 41 he could barely walk 300 feet straight with a severe back problem that required major surgery, a disk replacement and back fusion. The one thing my doctors told him that he could not do was to lift any weights, but they still recommended he worked out to focus on body and core strength. So, through trial and error throughout the last 15 years, he developed this bodyweight-only program which has been so effective that has allowed him not only to strengthen his back and be in the best shape of his life, but to achieve 20, yes TWENTY! fitness Guinness World Records after the age of 50! (The latest 8 records beaten as recently as January 2022). Also, given his busy corporate lifestyle, he needed a program that was short, effective, simple and convenient that he could take anywhere with him. And thus, World Record Fitness bodyweight-only program was born.
2) How is the program different for beginners or expert fitness warriors?
The beauty of this program is that a beginner and an expert can do the same training routine and both achieve the intended fitness progress. The secret lies on a critical factor in the training method that will vary from a beginner and an expert: INTENSITY. Intensity is the factor that will equalize a person starting his/her fitness journey and a fitness warrior. Each person is competing against himself/herself so as the individual starts the program, he/she will begin with a level of intensity adjusted to his/her fitness level and physical condition. As the individual progresses and gain strength and aerobic capacity, then he/she will gradually increase the intensity of the training accordingly. Example, if a beginner and our founder do a 4-minute Tabata session together, the goal is that at the end both are equally as tired, without regards of how many reps for each exercise each of them did. The intensity that each of them put into those 4 minutes of HIIT will be different and adapted to their fitness levels, but results on their physical conditioning progress will be similar.
3) Is the World Record Fitness program appropriate for kids, or the elderly?
Since this training method is exclusively bodyweight-based, ANYONE at any age can do it. Kids as young as 11 years old, and adults as old as 70+ have done the program with great results. When the program was first tried during Covid, whole families did it together while in quarantine to stay physically and mentally healthy. My sessions are very safe, and fun! for all.
4) What training methods do you use?
Our founder designed the program with effectiveness (he beat 20 World Records!) as number one criteria and convenience and ease of use (he was a business traveler) as the second most important one. Since the sessions are done in one place and in front of the mobile device, all routines can be done within the small space of a room. The training methods mostly used are Tabatas, AMRAPs (As Many Rounds As Possible), Ladders, Supersets, isometric sets, plyometrics and Myo Reps. We combine them to make the sessions fun, and also depending on the objective of the session (i.e. Strength? Cardio? Full body? Etc).
5) Do I need any equipment?
Not at all. This program is designed for effective results with simplicity and convenience in mind. All of the main routines and exercises are fully bodyweight-based, however, if you enjoy working out at the gym and like to use some of their machines, we can design a routine that will mix bodyweight with machine work. Or, if you are an expert fitness warrior, you can add kettlebells or dumbbells to increase some resistance. Just let us know via de in-app chat feature and we will get what is right for you.
